9/27 -- GOOD

No new reports, however two Kiene's discussions: discussion 1 -- dry golden stones, no egg bite, discussion 2 -- caddis pupa. Below normal number of salmon. 800 CFS (vs 580 avg).

9/23 -- FAIR

Hoppers during heat. AP's, birds nests, hares ears. Wadeable. 780 CFS (vs 570 avg), up from 670 monday.

9/20 -- FAIR

675 CFS for 6 days (vs 600 avg). No new reports. Kiene's discussion had indicated sparse insect activity; diver saw 100 steelhead/rainbows below daguerre dam.

9/16 -- FAIR

Flows good, but hatches spotty. Nymphs (stones, caddis) > dries (hoppers). Egg hatch will help. Up to 680 CFS (from 600 tuesday) (vs 580 avg). See Kiene's thread.

9/13 -- FAIR

600 - 700 CFS for 4 days (vs 600 avg). No new reports (strange, since it should be good now with lower flows). Above 20 bridge has been closed since 8/31.

9/9 -- FAIR

Caddis below 20 bridge. After relatively steady 480 - 500 CFS for 5 days, sudden spike to 600 (vs. 900 avg). Very wadeable now.

9/6 -- FAIR

580 CFS for 3 days (vs 900 avg). Should be improving, but no new reports. Call ahead.

9/2 -- FAIR

Down to 700 CFS (vs. 1100 avg), from 2100 a week ago. No new reports, but should pick up soon with lower flows.

8/31 -- FAIR

Dropping fast. Now below average at 1000 CFS (vs. 1100 avg) from 2500 a week ago. Should stabilize at 800 CFS on 9/1. Fishing should pick up after fish adjust to new flow regime. Baetis, stones, PMD's, large attactors, hoppers.

8/25 -- FAIR

Fish the edges, seams. Dries: baetis, stones, PMD's, attractors, hoppers. Flows on the way down. 2200 CFS (vs. 1400 avg), from 2700 tuesday. Will drop 200 CFS a day until 9/1, stabilizing at 800. Kiene's discussion.

Starting 8/22, flows expected to dropp 200 CFS per day until 9/1, when they'll stabilize at 800 CFS. Could be very good. 2600 CFS > a week (vs. 1400 avg). Other than that, no new info. Call ahead.

USGS says steady 3000 CFS, but Fish First says erratic flows are putting fish down. Avg flows are 1500 CFS, which would be wadeable. Anticipate march browns, caddis, mayflies, midges "when flows stabilize" (Fish First). Call ahead.

Trout / half-pounder steelhead (14-19 inches) along edges. Eggs, sj worms. Evening caddis and mayflies. 3000 CFS for several weeks (vs. 1500 avg).

Steady at 3000 CFS for > 1 week (avg is 1300). No real intelligence except dries along edges above daguerre diversion dam, which seems like an old report. Not enough to warrant an upgrade. Call ahead.
