Lots of insect activity, dries and nymphs. October caddis in the Farmlands. Yellow sallies, stones. Flows down to 1400 CFS (vs 2200 a week ago, which is avg).

Cooler weather has improved fishing. Big dries and nymphs. Terrestrials, stones, standard nymphs. Down to 3600 (vs. 3000 avg), from 4200 wednesday.

Big dries, hoppers, stones. Best before 9am. Dropped to 3600 CFS tuesday, after extended 4200 (vs. avg 3000). Call ahead due to flows. Fish may need to settle in.

Stones in lower canyon -- peak of hatch -- "monster bugs everywhere". Best a.m., p.m. Not as intense as last week. Flows up to 3600 CFS, which is normal (up from 2400 a week ago, and expected to continue upwards).

Monsoon spiked flows, as well as aggression of the big boys, though not many. Stones. Flow site not working. Call ahead.

7/22 -- EXCELLENT

Sorry for the major absence in reporting.....We are incrwedibly busy with Two Lodges, 5 Rivers and our Fly Shop. Fishing throughout Washington right now is AWESOME. All our watersheds are fishing great. This ensuing report kid for the Yakima - Nymphing lately in the lower canyon has been good to great. Pat's stones, lightning bugs, king princes, and caddis pupa patterns have made the show lately. Today caddis fishing in select zones at dark was worthy. Nymph off the banks.....and then some. Harder more oxygenated flow has some serious play right now. On more fairweather days such as last night....big summer stone dry fishing has been ok to good. Let it ride, it'll get eaten. Give this hatch another week to build momentum and it is game on.

Down to 2350 (3400 avg). Stones, hoppers.

Flows up to 2600 (from 2400 saturday, 3200 avg). Currently enjoying "some of the best dry fly fishing of the summer so far" (Tight Lines, below). Big dries, including terrestrials and attractors.

Fish becoming choosy in low, clear water (2400 CFS vs. 3400 saturday and 300 avg). PMD's. Smaller flies. Wadeable.
