5/25 -- GOOD

"For a limited time only, experience the classic hatches of Salmon Flies on California's prominent blue-ribbon Hat Creek. Occurring daily from about NOW through early July, The Salmon Flies provide the hearty rainbows and browns of Hat Creek with much anticipated protein. The fishing has been best early in the AM, then again near sunset."

5/18 -- FAIR

"Stoneflies and salmon flies will appear any day. Fishing best early and then near sunset. Hot flies have been Hogans S&Ms suspended under Green Drake dries and swinging/stripping leeches and buggers."

5/11 -- FAIR

5/6: "Fishing best in the morning hours and then right after sunset. Warm weather will lead to better hatches that create better all-day fishing. Won't be long before stoneflies and salmon flies are creating better reports."

5/4 -- FAIR

"The past couple days have offered poor-fair fishing."

4/27 -- GOOD

Opening day Saturday: "On scouting forays we’ve seen some heads rolling on small mayflies and good hatches of caddis. The Hat is in good condition and should fish well during the first weeks of the season."

River closes 11/15. "Look for rising rainbows along the flats below PH#2 and Carbon Flat. #20 Baetis and #16-18 BWOs are the main hatches currently."
