10/26 -- FAIR

"Fall River is fishing great one day, then fair the next. There are more than enough rainbows in this stream, allowing all anglers AM dry fly fishing and nymphing under indictors or on the swing or strip during the afternoon."

10/19 -- GOOD

10/14: "We have exactly 31 days of fishing on Fall River for 2012. Hatches of caddis, baetis and a peppering of PMD's have kept the fishing solid this week. We can't come up with any reasons why the good times won't continue through November 15th."  10/16: "Just got back from 3 day trip on Fall River. Friday was great with BWO action on top water (dries). Best flies were Quigley BWO Loop Wing or Harrops BWO size 18 or so."

10/12 -- GOOD

"Fishing is good. Best action is mid morning with trout feeding on midges and BWO’s.  Look for trout feeding on caddis midday and callibaetis in the afternoon unless the wind comes up. Stripping light leaders on a full sinking line is a good choice in the afternoon if it’s windy."  "Cobalt skies, brisk mornings and a peppering of fall colors. The fishing has been great! There's a mixture of caddis, baetis and PMDs in the morning hours. Enough insect activity to produce an action packed fly fishing session before lunch. The afternoon fishing consists of fishing nymphs and leeches. Sometimes the best fishing of the day happens in the afternoon when the 2:00PM breeze creates a texture on the river surface, making it harder for the rainbows to see you."

9/28 -- FAIR

"The summer pattern with short windows of dry fly fishing early and late on the Fall River continues with warm temps."

9/21 -- FAIR

"The fishing has been fair to good. Anglers are finding a small dry fly window in the early AM hours, then nymphing on the swing or under indicators should conjure up more than a few rainbows through the rest of the day."

9/14 -- GOOD

9/8: "You won't have to go far to find good fishing on Fall River. Seems like the entire 9 miles above the confluence has been fishing well this week. Anglers are finding a small dry fly window in the early AM hours, then nymphing on the swing or under indicators should conjure up more than a few rainbows through the rest of the day."

9/7 -- VERY GOOD

"The fishing has been great! River conditions are ideal, the weather has been great. The dry fly fishing can be really good when there's a smoky haze thanks to forest fires off to the west." "It’s good, yes, but a peppering of epic reports are out there."

8/31 -- GOOD

"Fishing is fair to good. Trout are rising to tricos and PMD’s until midday.  In the evening, trout will rise to caddis emergers and callibaetis."  "Still fishing great. There's a caddis hatch early in the morning and a sparse mayfly hatch mid day."  "The Fall River has been fishing well though the valley has been smokey. The overcast the smoke creates has improved the dry fly fishing, which has been generally poor overall this season."

8/24 -- VERY GOOD

"Late summer often produces some of the best fishing of the entire 7.5 month long season on Fall River.  Over the past week, we have experienced good to great fishing. Rainbow trout can be found sipping trico spinners in the AM hours, then nymphs, leeches suspended under indictors or swung on sinking lines makes for great memories."

8/16 -- GOOD

"The fishing has been great on Fall River! You might get into some smoke from fires located about 90 miles to the south, but afternoon winds will clear the haze."  "Fishing is good. Start fishing around 8am for the trico spinnerfall."

8/3 -- FAIR

"You might be able to fool a few fish on Hex's, but the famous evening hatch has started to wind-up for the 2012 season. In the AM hours, look for rainbows rising to Trico spinners and a few PMDs. Hatches remain light, but good reports are coming out of Fall River, just not everyday."

7/26 -- VERY GOOD

"Since my last report on the 17th, the fishing has been very good. Looks like Fall River will be a top pick this August!! We were into big rainbows today and many of them. Fall River should be worth the extra effort for the next couple weeks at least!"

7/20 -- FAIR

"Fishing had been fair to good, as the river was stocked above the falls. Below you’ll find some nice browns and wild fish."

7/13 -- GOOD

"Fall is producing the good fishing this spring creek is known for! Fishing in the AM and then again in the early evening continues to be the best program."   "Hex should go for another week or two."

7/6 -- GOOD

"Fall River continues to fish great this week. The fish have been moving around this week and the Hex hatch that comes off around 9:00 PM has many of the fish in the lower river "well fed". Expect best results in the late morning lasting through 2:00 PM, then a lull that lasts until 8:00 PM. From 8:00 until about 9:30 PM the rainbows are eating caddis and then Hex's."  "With not much of a hatch and no dry fly shots to speak of, nymphing was productive at times!"

6/21 -- GOOD

"Today I guided half of the day on Fall River and the other half on Hat Creek. They both fished really well."

6/15 -- GOOD

"Conditions have been improving by the week. Fishing has been absolutely incredible for some, less than fair for others."  "The fishing has been very good, as long as you can get one of the key runs. The fishing conditions are evolving and improving by the week. I think we are looking at seriously good to epic fishing come August."

6/9 -- GOOD

"River conditions are great. They are also low. The "breakfast of champions", better known as the morning PMD hatch is happening!"  See Kiene's discussion.

6/1 -- FAIR

"River conditions are low. But, the insects like PMDs and BWO's are coming off in scattered flurries. The fishing is hot one second, cold the next. Hatches are occurring! The fishing has been mostly fair, but good reports are coming in!"
